Thanks for the shoutout! I just came across it while revisiting your thoughts on the InnioAsis players β I'm actually considering picking one up right now.
My logic is, if they're pirating, they're listening; and if they're listening, they're either a)gonna want more substantial engagement with the source of the thing; and/or b) gonna want to talk about what they got. Both of those options benefit my projects far, far in excess of what I'll ever collect from DSPs as they currently allocate. I'll find other loot to sell the pirates.
At Growroom Productions we long ago subscribed to the pay-what-you-want ethos so piracy really doesn't bother us. As long as people are listening, enjoying and the music is making a difference in people's lives. Now if one does wish to pay for the music on Bandcamp, not only does it go directly to our artists and operations costs, but 25% of that money we donate to ACLU as well. Incentives for people to pay for the music are separate from curbing piracy. But again, go ahead and pirate it!!

My pleasure fella! Enjoy the Inni player too - I love mine.

Been getting into that Dadawah album as well, due to Jefre Cantu-Ledesma recommending the album on Pitchfork! So good.
Yeah it's magnificent. Took me a mo to tune into the vibe of it, but once that was done... yep, fantastic.
